Aroeira Honey: New Product for Apitherapy

It is known that honey has been used since ancient times in folk medicine to treat illnesses. The antimicrobial action and antioxidant capacity, the high levels of phenolic compounds, have aroused the interest of the scientific community. In addition to the biological activities reported for this honey, such as anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antioxidant, among others. The Geographical Indication (GI) of aroeira honey allowed the recognition and added value to the product and regional beekeeping production.
